Prof. Loftsson (University of Iceland) visited CycloLab and gave a talk on the development of eye drops using Oculis technology.
Oculis technology is based on microparticles formed by gamma-cyclodextrin complexes of the drugs. The aggregation of cyclodextrins and their complexes results in stable microparticles. They have the advantage of solubilizing the drug, enhancing the contact time with the eye and ensuring enhanced drug delivery to the posterior segment of the eye.
