CycloLab collaborates with Daicel Corporation

Daicel Corporation, Japan and CycloLab Cyclodextrin R&D Laboratory, Ltd, Hungary have jointly published a white paper on the bitterness masking effect of β-cyclodextrin in the formulation of orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs) using Daicel's propriatery excipient mixture called Granfiller D.
Model ODT samples comprising β-cyclodextrin complex of mitiglinide calcium and Granfiller D achieved practical bitterness masking, sufficient tablet hardness and rapid disintegration.
Combining bitterness masking by β-cyclodextrin and swelling matrix of Granfiller D, by synergistic input of both company's excellence, a model technology for manufacturing a palatable ODTs was provided in a white paper accessible here.
